SAFER SCHOOLS
Schools are meant to be safe places where children can learn, make friends, and prepare for the future. However, the increasing violence in both public education and our communities is undermining this right to safety, putting students and staff at risk, and creating a fearful atmosphere in educational settings and on the streets across the country.
The statistics present a worrying picture, highlighting the urgent need for action. Recent tragic incidents have emphasised the necessity for a secure and safe school environment, where teachers, staff, and students can work and learn without any threat to their personal safety.
Additionally, the prevalence of issues like vaping and nitrous oxide among young people underscores the importance of proactive measures to ensure the health and safety not only within schools but also in our communities.
